The Koker International Short Film Festival is an independent platform dedicated to supporting independent, poetic, and alternative cinema from around the world. Its mission is to highlight emerging and creative filmmakers from diverse generations, countries, languages, religions, and genders, reflecting the universal and humanistic spirit that defined Abbas Kiarostami’s work. Rooted in his artistic legacy, influence, and cinematic philosophy, the festival honors one of the most significant figures in the history of world cinema. Supporting filmmakers who work with limited resources is one of our core values; therefore, we strive to create an accessible, inclusive, and artist-centered environment.
Following two successful independent editions curated at Klick Kino in Berlin, the festival will now take place annually from 1–3 July, establishing a permanent cultural presence in the city “ Berlin”. These dates remain fixed each year in tribute to Abbas Kiarostami’s anniversary.
